The congress invites us to reflect on the multiple Latin American horizons:

• the colonial legacies and their contemporary reinterpretations;
• the dynamics of globalization and deglobalization;
• structural inequalities and forms of exclusion;
• democratic trajectories and authoritarian drifts;
• environmental challenges and the indigenous question;
• human mobility, diasporas, and plural identities;
• regional integration processes and relations with global powers.

The Italian Congress of Latin American Studies organized by Latin Americanist historians aims to create an interdisciplinary space capable of stimulating new synergies among the various strands of Latin Americanism to strengthen a network of collaboration among those dedicated to the study of Latin America.
